Fifth match will decide the title in the men's national championship in Bulgaria. This happened after Levski crashed Lukoil with 95-78 in Game 4 of the series and tied the score at 2-2. The series is best of five and the winner of the next game will be crowned as the new champion of Bulgaria. The match is on June 3, Tuesday at 18.00 in Arena Samokov in the same city.
The game was even until the Levski turned their defense into zone and gain advance that was 13 points at the half time break - 54-41. The difference was made also thanks to the excellent shooting from Levski behind the 3 point arc - 9 successful from 14 attempts. Levski players dominated from that point on and did not allow their opponent to get closer for a moment.
The third quarter started equally as Levski maintained their lead. At one point after a new series of nine consecutive points lead Levski was up for the first time by 20 and more. Throughout the remainder of the game was clearly who the winner will be and at the end the score was 95-78 in their favor.
Finally, in last quarter both coaches gave some minutes on the court for their younger players - Kamen Atanasov, Gerasim Nikolov and Evgeni Hadjirusev from Levski and Chris Minkov and Nikolay Grosev from Lukoil Academic.
A key element of the meeting was 3-point shooting from Levski - 14 of 26 successful attempts for 54 percent while Lukoil had only 37 % from the same distance - 7 of 19.
Great game for the home team by Hristo Zahariev who finished with 23 points and even didn't played in the last quarter of the match. Lionel Chalmers added 22 points while Brandon Heath had 19 points and 9 assists.
For Lukoil Aland Tucker finished with 20 points and Dimitris Verginis added 11.
Match # 5 to determine the champion of Bulgaria is on Tuesday (June 3) at 18.00 in Arena Samokov in Samokov.
