In what supposed to be a derby of this round in National Basketball League Lukoil Academic didn’t give any chance to Levski and beat them one more time – 85-65. Lukoil got their lead before the break and after that the match was pretty much decided without any problems in their favor. They played better defense and if they had more desire to succeed than your opponent. Levski failed to show something special and disappointed their fans with their poor play. So Lukoil Academic stay on top with 9 wins from 9 games while Levski is second with a record of 7-2.
Four players of the visiting team finished in double-digits. Surprisingly the best scorers for Lukoil were two bulgarians - Tencho Banev and Vesko Veselinov. They ended with 13 points apiece as Banev added 11 rebounds for double-doubleperformance. Todor Stoykov scored 12 points and Andre Owens added 11 but more importantly he played well in defence against Aaron Harper.
Harper was limited to only 14 points for Levski, Evtimov finished with double-double of 11 points and 15 rebounds while Jordan Bozov scored 9 points.
