Strong second half brought the victory to the men’s team of Levski in round 25 of the National Basketball League in Bulgaria. Today their opponent in "Hristo Botev" hall in Sofia was Spartak Pleven. At the half time break the boys of coach Titi Papazov led by only 3 points (52-49) but finally reached 30 points victory - 116-86 in favor of "blues" . This was victory number 20 in the championship for Levski with only five losses. This record will secure second place for Levski in the final standings of the regular season and they already know their opponent in the first round of the playoffs, namely ... Spartak Pleven.
Levski started better the match and after a series of 12 consecutive points at the beginning quicly managed double-digit lead. After ten minutes they were ahead by 34-20. In the second quarter the visitors made good run and reduced off the deficit to 52-49.
At the beginning of the third quarter the guests even cut the lead down to just 1 point and had a chance to go ahead but that was all they did in this match. Levski leaped strongly in defense and offense as well and quickly jumped all over their opponent. Eventually, the match was decided by the end of the third quarter, which ended 87-64 in favor of "The blues". 23 points advantage, which gave more freedom to the boys and Levski in the last ten minutes closed the meeting for the final plus 30 in their favor - 116-86.
Strong game for Aaron Harper, who became the top scorer in the game with 33 points. Marcus Hall added 23 and Stefan Georgiev and Dimitar Angelov finished with 15 and 14 points.
For the guests from Pleven Todor Todorov scored 25 points but only 2 of them in the second half.
This coming Friday at 18.00 in "Triaditsa" in Sofia Levski will play versus Chernomorets Burgas in a match from round 26 of the league.
